Open Question: An unsolved murder...and a little greed?

I am SO mad at my husband because of what appears to ME to be greed. 18 years ago a lady in her 20's went missing in my hometown. She was found dead 10 days later. The case has been icy for 18 years, although there were some drawings of potential suspects. But MY part in this situation? I was working at a restaurant when I was 18, about a year after the murder. A co-worker and I were talking and out of no where she informed me that her boyfriend was the one who did it. She proceeded to tell me some details that would definitely show reason for suspicion. I was shocked and knew that I had to tell someone. But in the end of the discussion she told me that the most unreal part of it every is that police know about him, have questioned him and cleared him. But she still thought he did it. I realized that I probably didn't have new information for police if they had already talked to him. I was notably shocked as she told me this considering she had let me stay the night with her a few times because she would let my boyfriend snooze over. So I may have spent the night in a home with a murderer. That was 18 years ago. And it didn't hit me until this past Sunday that there is a chance she made the part up about the police clearing him. What if she saw the shock in my face and made that part up? With this revelation, I shared the story with my husband. He and I have been married for 3 1/2 years. Throughout the years I grew more and more concerned as I noticed that he will do anything for a quick buck. Not anything illegal, mind you...but definitely immoral. Of course, with my news his first response was "Is there a reward?" I told him I didn't know and didn't care. But I felt that I needed to call the investigator and let him know. My husband beat me to the call. I have been in bed sick for the last 3 days and hadn't been able to call yet but knew I was going to call this week. Although my husband does not know these people and has never even lived in the same state, he called the investigator on Monday. And didn't tell me about it until today. He has not been able to connect with the man yet...at least that's what he said. I left voice mail for the investigator today. No calls back yet. I am livid. My husband also informed me that he counseled my sister in law (his brother's wife) who was a cop at one time and is now a minister. I was again livid. He even told her that I spent the night with these people so that I could hook up with my boyfriend. I have only met his brother's wife one time...I can only imagine what she is thinking about me. I am embarrassed beyond belief. When I asked my husband WHY he took it upon himself to call...what was his motivation??? He said that he wanted to receive the ball rolling for me. Okay, so why didn't you TELL me that you called? He said he wanted to be the "initial contact" for the issue. Why? Money, right? I feel that I told him something in confidence and fear that I can't trust him...and maybe I even have a price tag? $10,000 being that price tag? Am I losing it? Oh yeah...I forgot one detail. The night I told my husband about this, he googled the victims name and informed me that there was a $10,000 reward for information leading to arrest and conviction...I wish the guy is arrested if he did it. But I am SO upset that my husband would 1) tell family about a VERY personal matter...and probably co-workers as well and 2) I am 90% sure he only made contact for a reward...You would have to know him...but he would totally do it.

Open Question: Involved with my brother in law?

Please do not answer this question to bash me. I really need help. My sister and her husband are getting divorced. They have been married for 4 years and me and him have always had a connection and EVERYONE sees it. Well I have had very strong feelings for him for a long time. Well since they have been going through their divorce I have been spending time with him because I miss him so much. He treats me better than anyone ive ever been with and he wants to be with me. He says he loves me and that he has for awhile. I dont know what to do. My sister doesnt adore him anymore and doesnt want him back. I want to be glad and be with him but I dont want to lose my sister and my family. He has told his family and friends about the situation and they are every ok with it so its difficult for me to say its totally wrong to do this if so many ppl dont have a problem with it. I dont know what to do! Either way I lose something. If you have helpful advice or know of someone who has gone through this situation please let me know!

i just got my ticket through the mail few days ago should be paid by this friday well, i've been told by somefriends 2 go & look the judge 2 reduce the fine & allow me 2 attend a trrafic school so i went today 2 the court & asked 2 look the judge the girl working there said that im not eligible 4 traffic school cause i had one within the last 18 mon i said i know i just want to try that might work & she said they dont do that any more & every i have 2 do is pay the fine or if i want 2 look him i have 2 open a case against the officer which i dont want cause i was speeding every i want is 2 go 2 the traffic school or at least low fine ( i know some one who went to the traffic school twice within 6 mon. cause the judge allowed him) so what do U think I should do?

My sister-in-law is allergic to cats, but she & my brother are always "too busy" to arrive over to my home, and they've only visited 2 or 3 times in the last 4 years (even though we live in the same town). Why don't Christians today follow the Bibles rules about stoning people who break the Ten Commandments? And how arrive they'll say being a homosexual is an abomination but not pay attention when God says eating shrimp is also an abomination? Why don't we follow the Old Testament laws about shaving or not wearing polyblend fibers in clothing? I'm a Christian myself, so I'm not trying to troll... Here are the steps to lift a spoiled child. First of every saying no to the child is a no to you. A 7 years old child doesn’t like to be told no even if he or she was playing with knives you still shouldn’t say no to her or him , but instead say “ this isn’t what pretty/handsome girls/boys do “ . If the child wanted to be the boss in the home and give you orders then you should do them with a big grin on your face, also you should tell yourself that this what being a parent is every about. A Cell phone and an I-pod are a must and you shouldn’t receive them a fake cell phone because they can tell, 7 years old child wants a cell phone that can take pictures and if you can’t buy it then just give them yours. Second, the child doesn’t receive blamed for anything. If one day you think the spoiled child is just being too much of a spoiled brat and should be sent to a religious strict school. Then you should cease that negative thinking and start thinking positive by giving yourself positive thoughts saying that you deserve this because you are the one who got that child in life in the first place. If the child broke a jar in the living room its not his fault, its your fault as a parent that you put it there according to Murphy’s law anything that can go wrong, it will. The child shouldn’t receive the blame for this because at the end of the day he or she is just a child. Third, the child should always be invited to other’s parties and birthdays. It is your responsibility as a parent to socialize your child with the kids in the block. You should be informed about every the parties that go on around your area and receive your child inside those parties. However if you weren’t informed about a party in advanced then just crush in, and just before steer your child to the party ,at the car tell the child that this party is actually for him or her but the people lost the address so they put it here. And if somehow he found out that was not invited to any birthday parties it’s still not his fault that every kids are mean. After that every what you can do is to toss him or her a birthday with the excuse that its his or her older brother’s birthday but you forgot about it because you are too busy looking for a cell phone that takes pictures. And no matter what people say, Santa is real. In conclusion, if the child grows up and reaches 40 years old with social, financial, mantel, psychical problems. It’s still not his fault it is your. Remember?! You spoiled him/her!

Open Question: Physics Project need help!?

My project is on physics. It needs to have 13 physics terms incorporated into a video that i am commentating and saying things like "ooh the friction between that guys glove and that guys face was too much for his skin to handle and he got clip", or things like "the friction on the baseball field only has gotten worse since its rained and now we have 3 injuries due to slipping and falling". Basically i have to incorporate these terms into videos that is ether in one video or a collection of videos that ultimately has to be 2-3 minutes long total. so i have been brainstorming for about 2 weeks now on what i should write my 10-page criminal justice research paper on. this is just the basic course that introduces the law and law enforcement. i looked over the sign up sheet and of course every the obvious topics were taken -immigration -below-age drinking -guns -gangs -police brutality/excessive force -drugs -child pornography and so on...any general topics that you may think of. of course the professor does not want any repeat topics and it wouldn't be a good idea to do so in any case. i tried looking through every the lessons and my notes but i can't seem to think of anything =( the topics have to be related to the law &criminal justice system (obviously :p) i just want ideas or anything that'll receive me a head start because i want to complete this paper before thanksgiving break. any suggestions would be greatly appreciated :-)

Open Question: How is it that escorts seem to dodge prositution laws?

I have always wondered if escorts are breaking the law when they have sex with their clients. It would seem to me that this blatant prostitution. Yet, I assume that the majority of escorts aren't actually escorts in the sense of escorting somebody on a date, but rather they are paid sexual companions. When escorts have sex with clients, do they violate the law or is their some sort of "loophole" that makes this activitity somehow legal?

Open Question: Those who oppose gay marriage, what else would you change about gay laws?

I know if you hate gays/lesbians enough to vote against their right to lift families and be legally protected, what else would you change about laws regarding gays/lesbians? My son is 6 months old.and my sis in law's son is 7 months old.My problem is that everybodi in my in law's home including my hubby says that my sis in law's son was more developed that my son when he was 6 months old like he could give his arms to arrive to you and he could lie on his stomach by himself.but my son dont do this .Is there any problem with my son or he is less competent from my sis in law's son?? Please help and suggest. One more info,me and my husband live away from family.and my sis in law lives in a joint family so ,so many members to play with child.can it be the reason??

hello everyone i just got a motorcycle from flashmotorcycle and i am very glad with condition i got my bike. now i seem to be having difficulties because when i bought this motorcycle i didnt think it was going to receive me into problems with the law the exhaust it came with was to noisy but there charging me a fine for having it on im suppose to take it off but i didnt is there a way to receive some knd of paper work that way when i receive pulled over it wont be an issue because i dont wanna go through the hassel of putting a factory exhaust on it.

Open Question: Vigilantism...good,bad, justified?

Just a huge fan of this theme of movies.. Batman, Punisher, Dirty Harry, Deathwish, Walking Tall, Rolling Vengeance, Punisher(Dolph Lungren), Boondock Saints, Next of Kin, A Man Apart, Four Brothers, cab Driver, Billy Jack, A Time to Kill, The Gladiator, and The Park Is Mine to name a few. So are there any cases where people have displayed such mannerism in reality? Do you feel that their actions can be justified (Like in the movie A Time to Kill)? I understand these are just movies and that many of these characters are fueled by vengeance, or punishment, thus the ends justifys the means...because in todays society law enforcement and judicial system is insufficient, unjust, and just simply good enough? Bad guys can buy their way free, drug dealers are wealthy, and cops cant do their job well enough? Real life vigilante's are scary. Anyone remember Bernard Goetz? How about lynch mobs, or para-military organizations (and I'm not talking about the Boy Scouts here). These individuals and groups are as dangerous as the criminals they say they're defending us from. Open Question: Cop Cars and Window Tint?

The legal limit in my state for Tint is 35%. How can the police cars in my town have theirs 5%. Their windows are DARK you cannot look them inside. I thought the laws were made for peoples safety. If they are too dark you cannot look very well and may cause accidents, which is a good law to have, but i dont want a cop speeding after somoeone and they cant look out of their windows? This makes no sense. So why are they able too? I know they are the Law, but the Law is also there to obey the law also. And My windows are 35%, beacuse any darker will receive you a ticket and a new re tint job. And i below stand that THE LAW IS FOR SAFETY not just the drivers. Thats not what my ? is. Shouldnt theirs have to be 35? FOR SAFETY measures? I have family in the next town. And my Uncle is a cop. They do not have tint on their windows and is a much bigger city.

Open Question: What are the car seat laws in BC, Canada?

Specifically, infants. I have been told you can breastfeed in a moving vehicle. This seems completely retarded to me. The logic is that a screaming baby is a distraction to the driver, so soothing the baby takes precedence. Does anyone know if this is true? I would call ICBC, but they are closed...and I am curious. I looked through the ICBC website, but there is nothing about nursing.

Open Question: Dog questions to all countries. Including overseas.?

How many of you overseas look to look that your answers fit to every countries or do you every assume the question originates from where you live? Take the poll. If you live in the US do you take into consideration overseas questions? If you live in Australia do you take into consideration overseas questions? If you live in another country do you take into consideration overseas questions? Do you take into consideration language differences. IE: Expressions or slang terms? Do you understand overseas laws before you answer a question? Did you even consider that what you answer may not be applicable in another country? Did you realize that Yahoo Answers is Global and not specific to your country? Most of every did you cease and think, hey before I can answer this I must take into consideration the person their slang or global term is something entirely different to mine? Yes the question is revelant to Dogs because the world is diverse and I have encountered many a question of dogs and it varies from country to country. What is accepted as ok in one country is not in another. I have learnt to ajust my answers, I wonder if others have done the same.

Open Question: I need some help with my girl situation?

ok, so I really really like this girl, we got really close for about two weeks but in the last week she hasn't really replied to txts or calls, and when i talk to her in person she's super shy and she's always busy. She is really involved in school functions and her classes. and has never had a boyfriend before. I know she doesn't have a boyfriend . her friends did think she had a crush on me but that was two weeks ago... we havn't hung out much in the last week or so and when ever i ask her she seems to be suddenly too busy to txt. I'm not gonna lie, i fell for her quick. she has an amazing personality but idk what's going on in her mind. she might be shy or she might just not want a relationship... but i'm a guy so it's simple law that we don't understand women.
